On 25th-26th November, Chris and I are attempting to beat the Guinness World Record for the most capital cities visited in 24 hours using only public transport.
Where are you visiting?
We’ll be visiting the capital city of 9 countries (!) but the exact route is ‘top secret’ until we leave. We’ll update this page before we set off so you know where we’re going and when we’ll be there.
How can I follow your progress?
You can search social media for #9in24. We’ll be tweeting from @AdamLeyton and @Get_Fletch posting on Instagram from @NorthernAgency and there may be some Facebook Live video and updates from Adam Leyton.
On the day you will be able to follow us in real-time using the map below. Our position will be updated every few minutes.
Why are you doing this?
We’re doing this to break a world record (let’s face it, this world record could get a lot tricker to break after Brexit) and to raise money and awareness for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
You can donate to Sands through our Justgiving page, justgiving.com/9in24
Give me some stats
We’ll use 6 trains, 5 buses, 2 flights and need to run about 3km. We’ll cover around 2,600 km (1,600 miles) in total meaning we need to average 68mph, every hour, for 24 hours.
We’ll probably drink about 6 litres of coffee (each), some beers, maybe visit 9 McDonald’s (is there a world record for that too?) and have enough portable battery power for at least 10 phone charges each.
